About Us


Boasting views of the mountains and tea plantations, this ecologically friendly property is located 1,200 metres above sea level, allowing guests to enjoy its cool 20-degree Celsius climate. The restaurant serves Sri Lankan, Chinese and Western specialities. Room service is provided. Forest Edge 24-hour reception staff can assist with airport shuttle, laundry and private parking services. Travel arrangements can be made at the tour desk.


Location

Just 5 km from Ginigathena City. It is a 30-minute drive from Kitulgala City and a 2.5-hour drive from Adam's Peak and Bandaranaike International Airport.


ACCOMMODATION

Four spacious double rooms open on to the swimming pool at one end and a broad balcony that skirts around at the other. Hours can be spent on the balcony sipping a cup of tea and taking in the beautiful mountain views. Rooms are well furnished with king-size beds, sofa that can be converted into an additional single bed, and wardrobe. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, satellite TV and tea/coffee facility. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers, hair drier and toiletries.


Facilities

It houses an outdoor pool and provides free Wi-Fi access in its public areas. Forest Edge is situated in the small village of Rajurawa, Fitted with a balcony, rooms are equipped with air conditioning and a fan. They feature a flat-screen TV, a comfortable sofa area and an en suite bathroom with hot rain shower facilities.


Excursions

Explore the tea plantation and learn of Sri Lanka's most precious crop. Tea plucker's are usually busy at work each morning right in front of the main building and happy to demonstrate the tea plucking process. Go white water rafting down the mighty Kelani River. Rafting mixes the ups and downs of rapids with calm sections along the river that meander through the jungle clad mountains, tea and rubber plantations. The Kelani River offers grade 3/4 rapids that are suitable for beginners and experienced rafters alike. Just across the Kelani River is the Makandawa Rain forest Reserve which is home to over 50 rare species of birds.

The Kelani River offers grade 3/4 rapids that are suitable for beginners and experienced rafters alike.

Sri Lankan and western cuisine is served in the main restaurant. You can also choose to order your meals, fresh juices, tea and coffee to your room and have it on the balcony while enjoying the mountain views.
